The problem is that Fort Harmony is a space filled with hate because of the survival of someone from Soldier Boy’s past.

It grows along the wall in a shape similar to something. the last of usQuinn (Chris Hagen) clearly gets on a nerve with Soldier Boy, who traps Homelander in a chamber of uranium that weakens Homelander in ways viewers have never seen before. While Homelander’s mission to find and destroy V-1 before he can use it isn’t exactly a success, Soldier Boy’s journey is an uplifting one for viewers, revealing parts of his history that will influence the upcoming prequel series. Vought Rising.

It was also a big episode for Annie’s father-daughter bond with her own father, Rick (guest star Tim Daly). Rick was only mentioned in the series until this episode, which revealed a much-needed connection between the two. Below, showrunner Eric Kripke digs deeper into the Soldier Boy legend, talks about testing the bond between father and son, and more in Episode 4. the boys”Final season.

prime video

A visit to Fort Harmony reveals the history of Soldier Boy. What made you excited to delve into that space and use it as a world-building platform?

Eric Kripke: It’s like a little teaser Vought RisingBut it’s less about the locations and more about the stories we hear about all the different characters, for example Soldier Boy’s rivalry with his brother and when we meet Soldier Boy and him. Vought Risinghe’s a much greener version of Soldier Boy that everyone frankly rolls their eyes at because he’s a rich kid who paid to be in the program, whereas everyone else is really experienced military personnel, unlike this tough, cocky, maybe-devil guy. Also important is the concept of the trial and error, death, and destruction that Vought caused along the way in creating these four super soldiers, and how that evolved into the creation of the V we know today, and the trail of bodies he left behind. That was fun. We tried to do it in a way that was important to this particular episode. And every season we talk about Compound V. Where did it come from, how did it start, what are its true origins, which is interesting in itself, but it also serves as a kind of tease. Vought Rising.

Soldier Boy puts Homelander in a radiation chamber to neutralize him. What can we learn from the fact that this room had such a debilitating effect on him and continues to exist?

Without spoiling anything, it comes back to a certain extent. Other than the fact that he can’t see through zinc, we’ve never really explored his physical weaknesses – nothing more than emotional weaknesses – and we thought it would just be interesting to explore that. After all, he’s a human, so his kryptonite would be the same kryptonite we all have, it’s just a very radioactive substance, whereas we’d fall and die within 5-10 minutes Chernobyl-style, he won’t fall and die, but he’ll get sick in the same way that kryptonite makes Superman sick. In other words, it felt like a real-world version of Kryptonite. If kryptonite existed in the real world, it would just be a nuclear rod. So it was kind of our spin to try something like that.

prime video

Soldier Boy cooperates with Homelander to find V-1, but there is a hidden motive. What can we say about their father-son relationship as the season continues?

Yes, we’ve been following the tortuous and strange father-son relationship between these two. Soldier Boy hates Homelander heading into this episode, like he hates him and the only reason he goes to Fort Harmony is to play pranks on Homelander. Sage was very wise and said, “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they could live forever?” But it definitely suggests to Soldier Boy, “Don’t you want to stop him from getting this?” So, he’s there to stop Homelander from getting V-1, and Sage doesn’t want Homelander to get V-1 for reasons we’ll explain in a moment.

But at the end, when Soldier Boy goes through an unexpected emotional experience and confronts his past and gets really upset, then when Homelander looks at him and gives him space instead of punishing him or trying to kill him, it’s like a strangely loving, good son act. And I think that really puts Soldier Boy in a loop where he had a good reason to take me down and didn’t, and it sends Soldier Boy on a journey where there might be more to this kid than I thought. No matter how weird he is, he might actually be my son, which complicates things.

prime video

On the other side of the father dynamic is Annie’s relationship with her father, who ostensibly supports the anti-Starlight movement because of his appearance. Why was it so important to introduce him before the series ended?

[There were] There are several reasons. One, Erin pitched that story early on in season two, and I was always like, “I promise we’ll get to it.” And when Huey’s mother came out of the woodwork, she said, “What happened to my father?” And I said, “I promise, I’m going to tell you the story.” Because I think it’s a really interesting story. We haven’t talked about her father in a while, but going back to Season 1, there’s obviously a lot going on, and we don’t like to leave it on the table when we have such a rich story.

It’s obviously dramatic and that’s why we wanted her to have that interaction with her father, and I think that’s an important idea. It’s portrayed by an excellent and likable actor like Tim Daly. In other words, the majority of people in the world are good people, right? They’re just scared, they’re scared about the economic situation, the price of gas, the price of groceries, will their family be okay? But he’s obviously a religious and devout guy, like he’s obviously biased to the right, but he’s also a really good guy and wants to do the right thing. And I think that’s the majority of us in this country who truly believe that the problem is with the leaders, not the people. So we thought he gave us a great opportunity to make that point.

the boysSeason 5, Wednesdays, Prime Video

#Boys #boss #talks #Soldier #Boys #visit #Fort #Harmony #means #Vought #Rising

What you need to know the boys Showrunner Eric Kripke explains them Vought Rising Easter egg from the latest episode’s visit to Fort Harmony.
