MEGADETH’s Dave Mustaine claims his guitar style influenced early Slayer, Anthrax and Metallica

dave mustaine suggests that his guitar influences went beyond the two “big four” bands with which he was directly associated.

Mustaine’s early stint metallica Though it ended with his infamous 1983 firing, the split fueled years of bad blood that eventually led to the formation of his megadeth. He also passed each other for a short time slayer in 1984 kelly king He briefly signed on as a live guitarist for Megadeth before his contract with Slayer ended that arrangement.

While King has praised Mustaine’s play for years, he has also criticized Mustaine’s character. Its history covers three of the “big four” in some way; anthrax As the only member of that circle without a direct branch of Mustaine.

Megadeth will next resume touring in South America and Mexico, before playing a U.S. festival at the Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio on May 17th, before heading to Europe. Additional US performances are planned for July.

When talking to Brazilians, 89 FM Rock RadioMustaine shared:

Well, I’ve been very involved in the metal community. kelly [King, Slayer guitarist] and played together [during the two bands’ early days]And I taught him how to play Megadeth songs. [Slayer] I started retrieving all important records. Kelly and I had a really great time together.

And I wrote music for Metallica, and I wrote music for Megadeth. So, I’ve had a big influence on the guitars of these three bands. And when I met Scott [Ian, Anthrax guitarist] And the same thing happened to the anthrax guys in New York. Their first record was very different from the records they made after they met me and the rest of Metallica. I think that’s great. I love all those bands.
