5 things you won’t see in Michael Jackson movies

As the long-awaited Michael Jackson biopic “Michael” prepares for release, there’s a lot of buzz in the air as fans look forward to what they’ll see. Thankfully, from the information we’ve been able to gather thanks to the countless influencers and early critics who have already seen the film, we have a pretty good idea what you’re feeling. may not be visible It’s depicted in the movie.

We promise not to spoil anything or get too deep into the weeds, but here’s what we were able to compile and list in order to set proper expectations for the movie.

As previously reported, Michael’s sister Janet, with whom they shared a deep bond throughout their childhood and adulthood, does not appear in the film. A representative for the studio involved in the film explained that she chose not to participate and that the decision was up to her. However, we know that Michael had two other sisters, Levy and LaToya, so it’s likely that at least one of the three will appear in some way.

As revealed in the trailer and various interviews with director Antoine Fuqua and producer Graham King, the film centers on the beginning of Michael’s career, from his early days with the Jackson 5 to his eventual rise to solo stardom. While we can expect to see glimpses of Michael’s “bad” days, singing with his brothers, tearing himself up in “Off the Wall,” breaking down walls in “Thriller” and Quincy Jones, this controversy, aka the mid-2000s sexual abuse scandal that threatened to tarnish Michael’s legacy, will not be included as it happened decades later.

So if you want to know how the movie will depict this dark chapter in his life, you’ll have to wait until a sequel film is finally released (starring Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s nephew and son of his brother Jermaine, recently said it was “in early development”).

As several people on social media have pointed out, and you can guess from the trailer, “Michael” dates back to the late 1980s, after he released his album “Bad.” Although there are some re-enactments of him performing the famous song at Wembley Stadium in 1988, the same year he bought his famous Neverland Ranch in California, it appears that his famous residence will not be depicted in the film. So, again, you’ll have to wait until Part 2 to get a glimpse of it.

Considering how this movie is positioned as a “family” movie (and that’s by Marlon Jackson himself), rest assured that the movie won’t go too deep into showcasing the moments when Michael suffered from alleged abuse at the hands of his father, Joseph. Surely, we have all read or heard about it in Michael’s memoirs and various interviews. However, this is likely not the main focus in order to make this film enjoyable for the masses.

got it. Michael’s fandom is long, wide, and deep. People have an immense emotional attachment to his music, his stories, his family, etc. And fans, too, have spent decades immersing themselves in all things Michael, getting to the heart of his legend and his relationships (family, romantic, etc.). But considering he literally became a star as a child, lived on this earth until he was 50, and gave so much to the world, it’s literally impossible to include every moment that fans think should be included in this movie.

Yes, there will be things we love (music videos, fashion, family). However, it goes without saying that some items may be excluded for various reasons (timing restrictions, legal restrictions, relevance, etc.). This is a true enough biopic, but like people, the cast and others are saying, “This is just the beginning.” So perhaps people have a duty to temper their expectations little by little so that they can enjoy the film for what it is and the magic it has to share with the world.

“Michael” will be broadcast for the first time on April 24th.
