Scenes that were removed from Lucas’ film, such as the scene where Padme takes Anakin home to meet his family, have been brought back to shed light on the characters and their relationships. In this way, Grace extracted relevant parts of the story that could be incorporated into the original final cut.

This is another example of less is more, especially when it comes to Star Wars. True fans already understand the depth of the pain here. There was no need to hammer it home in such an obvious (and kind of stupid) way.

Of course, it is not without its drawbacks. Cutting over 300 minutes from the series leaves some holes and things move at a pace that may feel strange to those who know the original. But according to the few people who have been allowed to see it so far, Grace’s film is thematically tight, action-packed and fun.
