coronation street Spoilers follow.
coronation street Producer Kate Brooks has spoken in detail about the show’s dramatic “Murder Week” for the first time. Will we find any clues as to who will be killed?
The show will air a special episode next week that explores five potential victims in a new murder mystery plot.
Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsay, Megan Walsh, Maggie Driscoll and Theo Silverton are all set to return in a gruesome storyline. On the day of Carla Connor and Lisa Swain’s wedding, the unfortunate body of the main character is discovered, and a police investigation begins.

Next Monday’s episode will track Theo’s movements on the day in question, Tuesday’s episode will focus on Carl, Wednesday’s episode will deal with Jodie’s story, and Thursday’s episode will spotlight Megan and Maggie. Friday’s edition will then wrap up all the stories and reveal which characters have taken their last breath.
The plot twist was first revealed in February when a flashforward showed Betsy Swain being questioned by police after her body was discovered.
As for how the complex storyline came about, Brooks teases, “The first idea for Flash Forward came to me when I was at EuroDisney with my kids! I was in the shower, having five minutes of peace and quiet, and I was trying to think of how I could make the perpetrator feel different and fresh.”
“Instead of waiting until we found the murder victim, we wanted to get people interested from the beginning. So we thought, what if we did a ‘Who’s the killer?’ What if we did a flash-forward and pulled people into the story before we revealed what the actual story was? We thought there was something to this.”
She continued: “As we developed the story and wrote the script, the idea evolved through story conferences, but that was the original core. The other thing was that we were in a unique position, where we had five very complex people with varying degrees of villainy.”

“We thought we could take advantage of the fact that any of them could be a potential suspect or victim. It was a unique position, so we thought we’d make that a story point and explore that.”
Show bosses took a cautious approach to Cara and Lisa’s involvement in the storyline. Lisa’s daughter Betsy found out about it on the night of the wedding reception, but neither Carla nor Lisa were aware of what had happened and it did not ruin their day.
“We wanted a really fun romance full of hope and love. A beautiful wedding,” Brooks admitted. “Of course, we’re a soap so we need a backdrop of drama and excitement, but we also didn’t want to taint the wedding.
“Cara and Lisa don’t notice anything. They don’t think about anything. They’re watching the fireworks, and Sally takes off her jacket and is shaking. That’s one of my favorite moments, by the way! They’re having a great time, so they’re oblivious to the drama that’s unfolding on the street.”

“This was a way to get the best of both worlds. We had a really exciting story and a great week. The wedding elements became a great backdrop for it all.”
Another important element of planning is to ensure that you can achieve great results. In the coming weeks, we’ll not only see the murder mystery unfold, but we’ll also see more stories about the four villains who manage to survive.
“There’s going to be so many influences for each character going forward,” Brooks teased. “Then you also have the question, ‘Who did it?’ Elements – unraveling the big story that’s going to happen and what’s going on with all the other characters. It’s very complex, but it’s also satisfying and fun.
“Murder Week itself was intentional for each episode to feel like a mini-movie. The hook is that we don’t know yet who was killed, and that allows for a little bit of levity. Jodi’s episode in particular is really funny.”

“David is really drunk and he’s really funny and he’s gut-wrenchingly funny because he’s Jack.” [P Shepherd, who plays David] It’s amazing.
“Sally and Tim are also great. There’s all sorts of shenanigans going on, but we’re going back to the wedding a little bit. It gave us the opportunity to follow different themes and inject some levity and humour.”
“Every episode had great writers, and they gave this episode a real charm.” collie It still felt big and bold and different from what we’ve done before, but it felt like it. We also have a great soundtrack and the opening of each episode is a banger!”
