Death, taxes, and Mark Ruffalo, who won’t cover up about literally anything. These are the only certain things in life. Now that US tax day has already passed and death is hopefully far away, our favorite spoiler-prone Marvel star is up to his usual antics once again. That’s right, folks, Ruffalo appears to have let the cat out of the bag once again with an off-hand comment that was caught on camera. Naturally, the internet is currently buzzing about what this means for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, our friendly neighborhood wall-crawler, and potentially an encounter with none other than Venom himself.
But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves yet. As reported by IGN, social media posts claiming the Hulk actor was attending a Q&A in Italy quickly began circulating on X (still known as Twitter). Although the question he’s answering isn’t included in the clip, Ruffalo is caught on camera spilling some serious tea about Spider-Man’s future extraterrestrial enemies. Here’s what Ruffalo had to say:

“I promise 1000% [Spider-Man will] In the future, we will fight against aliens. ”
Somewhere, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige can be heard gnashing his teeth as he deals with new leaks from inside the house. Of course, the simplest assumption is that Ruffalo is setting up a big showdown that will conclude in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” As if the reappearance of the Hand, Michael Mando’s Scorpion, and even Jon Bernthal’s Punisher weren’t bad enough, what will Spidey have to deal with? another A threat from space? Perhaps Venom will even officially appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Let’s take a closer look below.
Is Mark Ruffalo teasing Spider-Man’s fight in Brand New Day, Avengers: Secret Wars, or something else entirely?
Spider-Man, consider yourself officially revealed. We may have a new candidate for New York’s biggest threat on our hands. His name is Mark Ruffalo. without overlapping too much Having said so much about the soft-spoken Marvel hero, we’re now left in all-too-familiar territory, overanalyzing every word he spills and its (potential) impact on the future of the MCU.
Assuming Ruffalo wasn’t trolling the audience, the most obvious possibility appears. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the next Spider-Man and Hulk movie, and is probably one of the projects Ruffalo is best known for. So far, the sequel’s marketing hasn’t tipped one way or the other about the hidden threats from outer space that Peter Parker will have to deal with…except perhaps for a brief shot of Peter single-handedly breaking out of his web cocoon, which looks decidedly darker and somewhat Venom-like (although, to be fair, this is probably just a shadow). Otherwise, the next guess will have to do with Avengers: Secret Wars, as Spidey seems conspicuously missing from the cast list for Avengers: Doomsday. Another major crossover event movie could easily create a path for the alien to be confused with Spider-Man, similar to the events of Avengers: Infinity War (though Secret Wars hasn’t even started filming yet).
Of course, this may have nothing to do with Venom at all, but can you blame fans for making wild speculations anyway? No matter what Ruffalo says, rest assured that Marvel’s sniper is on the case. Perhaps all will be revealed in Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31, 2026.
