In Season 4, Butcher’s blinding desire for revenge isolated him from his friends. He alienated everyone when he became super, but he still hasn’t been able to bring people back into his corner. Huey is the only one who vouches for Butcher, but in his anger, even he doesn’t seem to care what happens to Butcher in their duel. As for Kimiko’s tantrums, she explodes at her boyfriend and reminds Frenchie that she is not a damsel in distress. With Fort Harmony so messed up, The Boys were finally able to sort out their problems in a bit of a haze. Hopefully they’re on the same page now and can get back to the season 1 energy this show desperately needs. MM and Butcher essentially make up, and the team heads off from there, quietly enjoying listening to “Mambo No. 5” in the car.

However, before leaving, Homelander and Butcher come face-to-face as he is still trapped. “Did your dad put you in timeout?” Butcher asks him, adding that it doesn’t matter what Homelander accomplishes, he will never be happy. Frenchy convinces Soldier Boy to kill the weirdo, which stops the Boys’ rampage, frees Homelander, and makes Soldier Boy cry as he looks back on his past.

The Boys also deduce that V1 is missing and the only person who could have gotten it is a super named Bombsite who worked with Soldier Boy in the ’50s. Little is known about the man other than the fact that he starred in Vought Studios’ 1953 thriller. Fu Manchu’s Curse.
